Shifting the Paradigm - Course Syllabus

"There are 168 hours in each week. On average, 56 of them are used for sleep, 60 for watching television, 40 for work related activity, 8 for eating and 4 for finding one's self." - From -- John Gatto(Wikipedia) author of Dumbing Us Down: The Hidden Curriculum of Compulsory Schooling(Amazon)

This is the study guide for using this document as a training manual. You can study solo, participate in an on-line study group or class, or organize a small group to meet bi-monthly at your home or other location.

This course consists of two parts. The first part covers fundamental concepts and models of how Spiritual, psychic and paranormal phenomena work. It also Introduces practices that develope energy and insight. It also addresses the moral and ethical aspects of developing and using Spiritual power, The second part focuses on applications and introduces training in mind sight, remote viewing, OOBE, healing, past life regression, akhasic record access, telepathy, psychokinesis, depossession and other skills.

You can set your own pace in doing this course. When conducting physical face to face classes, one class every two weeks seemed to be a good pace. You don't have to do everything in the order that it is presented, but some material is preparatory for what follows.

The biggest challenge when you are working without social support and group participation is motivation.

The need to get feedback and ask questions is also not covered in a self directed study. You have to provide your own motivation and reason for doing the work in the presence of distraction and doubt. That is the biggest challenge.

As of early 2019, I am working on formats to facilitate more support for individuals interested in working this material as a training class. Check back to this website to check for progress.

Neditation

Meditation is a core practice. In a broad sense, meditation can be defined as a practice where an individual focuses their mind on a particular object, thought or activity to achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm state. All major religions including Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist, Jewish, Christian, and Islam include meditation practice in their traditions. Scientists are studying meditation from the perspective of its positive effects on physical and mental health and stress reduction.

Eastern and western esoteric and mystical traditions use meditation as a practice which can lead an individual to Spiritual enlightenment. They relate the enlightenment process to a cleansing and refinement of the energy of specific chakras which correspons to the physical endocrine glands in the physical body. This process evolves into an energetic change referred to as kundalini awakening.

A really important thing about meditation is the Intent with which it is practiced. A focused mind is a powerful thing. It can turn both positive and negative thoughts into reality. It will change an individual for better or worse in accordance with the intent engaged.

Meditation

Start a journal. Keep notes daily on your thoughts, ideas, issues, questions, successes, realizations and dreams. A couple of months from now you will be glad that you did. Reviewing the journal helps integrate what we learn and, in some cases, to make sense of it. It also helps us retain insights that we may forget in the fog of daily life.

Changing Your Mind

This section focuses on applying the EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) technique. EFT isn't mysterious or magical, but it does do something that mental processing alone doesn't do well. Tapping on the acupuncture points breaks up the energy patterns associated with thought patterns and makes them much easier to change.

It is difficult to reach a higher state of consciousness when we are entangeled in our unresolved conflicts and emotions. This is a process that can aid us in pro-actively addressing some of our personal issues and freeing up the energy and mental clarity necessary to achieve something better.

Psychic Self Defense

This is a sensitive and socially, scientifically and emotionally inconvenient subject. It promoted more anxiety, controversy and debate than anything else in the class.

It is really straight forward, easily dealth with and not something anyone should waste any fear on. There are a lot of books written on how to protect yourself from "people who drain your energy". The subject interaction with non-physical entities comes up immediately in any exploration of shamanism and psychic and paranormal studies. The truth is not represented in any of the movies or TV shows that you may have seen (I am so understating this!).

If you want to get a perspective on how a few professionals have addressed this issue, read the books written by Dr. Edith Fiore, Ph.D., Dr. Eric Baldwin, DDS., and Dr. Irene Hickman, D.O.

Self Empowerment Through Forgiveness

We've all been injured physically, psychologically, emotionally and psychically. We've all been justifiable pissed-off by something or someone. Injury, fear, intimidation and resentment tend to weaken and disempower us. One step in taking back our power and recovering energy is to forgive enemies and injuries.

Forgiving your enemies doesn't mean that you can't take care of business and protect yourself as needed. Forgiveness means relieving yourself of the burden of past injuries and intimidations of all categories. Forgiveness makes you stronger.

Recapitulation

Recapitulation is a means of managing the energetic connections between ourselves and the people, places and situations in our lives. It is a purely energetic means of severing connections with and recovering energy from the people, places, situations etc. that are or were detrimental to our lives. This powerful technique should be used carefully because not all connections should be severed. In some respects, this technique can be used as an energetic extension of the forgiveness process.

Recovering Energy from Pain

When working as a Chiropractic Physician, most of my patients came because they were in pain and they were seeking relief. Part of the treatment process is to diagnose the cause of the pain. I observed that there was a relationship between the pain experienced in the body, the mental state and non-physical energies associated with the mental state. Treating the physical symptoms alone was not always enough to accomplish pain relief, either temporary or lasting. Physical treatment alone was not as effective as I desired.

I invented this technique to address the pain issue on a purely energetic level. I used it after I had done the physical treatment and if the patient was recepptive to this approach. This technique has always worked to some degree, generally with immediate and lasting pain relief. This is a good way to resolve some types of chronic pain and recover energy in the process.

Healing and Recharging Vital Energy

This is a series of movements, breathing exercises and mental focus that directs energy to the body's joints and minor chakras. It is related to pranayama and qi gong. This is, in part, an adaptation of a series of exercises that I learned when I was practicing Kriya Yoga.

Qi Gong

There are many forms of qi gong energy development exercises. They are practiced by some for health and healing and by others as energy development as a part of Spiritual development. Qi gong is also an integral part of internal martial arts.

I have a simplified practice that I use. I am describing it here.

Kuji-In - Meditation and Kundalini

What the Japanese call kuji-in is believed to have been developed in ancient India as a practice to assist non-Spiritual people to develop their Spiritual faculties. It became a Hindu practice and was later adopted by Buddhist practitioners. It spread in various forms from India to Tibet then to China then to Japan. It was adopted by ninja practitioners as a means of focusing and projecting power.

A variation is presented here a system of self purification.

Shift the Paradigm

Have you ever observed at how the world works and wished that it could be different? Have you ever imagined how much better life could be if everyone was working in a cooperative win-win manner? Revolutions have sometimes been a means of removing one institutional tyranny only to have it be replaced by another. Occasionally, some visionary leaders manage to install a more just and enlightened system only to have it replaced from the inside by individuals seeking wealth and power at the expense of others.

Real change requires that the people involved change within themselves.
