Recharging the Body with Vital Energy
This method of recharging the body with vital energy is
derived from basic concepts of qi gong, huna mana charging and human anatomy. I am told that
something similar is practiced in Kriya Yoga. In this exercise, we will pull energy from the
Infinite to recharge and revitalize our bodies.
There is a Universal Principle of Fair Exchange. When you
take in vital energy, make a point to give something back. Giving back can be done though
conscious and purposeful living, healing, sharing and lifting the spirits of others. In this
way, you take from the universal pool and you give back to the universal pool. Running
water gives life, water that is not running becomes stagnant and eventually dries up. It is also a good idea to
precede your practice with a prayer giving thanks for the abundance and dedicating it to a
worthy cause. The healing of one's self is one such worthy cause.
Visualize the energy coming from the Divine original Creation
and entering the body through the top of the head. This influx of energy accompanies
breathing. As you inhale deeply, energy flows in through the medulla and crown and is directed
by attention and movement to the body area of interest as you inhale deeply.
Direct this energy with focus and intent to one area of
the body at a time. Focus and intent are enhanced by:
- Moving that body area while inhaling and pulling energy into it.
- Looking directly at that area with the eyes while inhaling and pulling energy into it.
- Touching that area with the fingers while inhaling and pulling energy into it.
Draw energy into a body areas one at a time.

Focus on the toes. Point your fingers and hands at your toes and
look directly at them. Flex and extend the toes while you inhale deeply and direct energy
into the toes and the joints of the toes. Repeat with the opposite foot.

The ankle is able to rotate as well as flex and extend.
Point your fingers and hands at your ankle and look directly at it. Inhale one focused
breath and direct the energy to the ankle while flexing and extending the ankle.
Take in another focused breath and direct the energy to the ankle while rotating the ankle
clockwise. Take in another focused breath and direct the energy to the ankle while rotating
the ankle counterclockwise. Repeat with the other ankle.

The knees primarily flex and extend and have a minor degree
of rotation. Point your fingers and hands at your ankle and look directly at it. Flex the knee
while rotating the foot externally and inhaling deeply, directing to the knee.
Exhale while extending the knee. Inhale and direct energy to the knee while flexing the knee
and rotating the foot internally. Exhale while extending the knee. Repeat this with the other leg.

The hip is a large ball and socket joint that allows
movement in all directions. Point your fingers and hands at your hip and look directly at it.
Bend the knee 90 degrees and extend the leg behind you. Take in a deep breath while rotating
the entire leg clockwise in a circular motion. Exhale and take in another
deep breath while rotating the leg counterclockwise in a circular motion. Repeat this with
the other leg.

The sacroiliac joint supports the weight of the entire
body and is capable of a degree of flexion and extension. Touch your fingers and hands to
your sacroiliac. Turn the leg outward (externally) 45 degrees and bend the knee. Keeping
the 45 degree angle, extend the leg back (posterior), then forward (anterior) while inhaling
deeply and directing energy into the moving sacroiliac joint. Repeat this with the other leg.

The spine is capable of movement in all planes of motion.
Touch your fingers and hands on your lower back. Inhale deeply and direct energy to your
lower spine while rotating the lower spine clockwise. Exhale then inhale deeply while directing
energy to your lower spine and rotating your lower spine counterclockwise. Repeat this
procedure while flexing forward and again while extending backward. Repeat this
procedure again while flexing to the right and again while flexing to the left.

|
|
|
Touch your fingers and hands on your mid back. Inhale deeply
and direct energy to your mid back while rotating the mid back clockwise. Exhale then inhale
deeply while directing energy to your mid back and rotating your mid back counterclockwise.
Repeat this procedure while flexing forward and again while extending backward. Repeat this
procedure again while flexing to the right and again while flexing to the left.

|
Touch your fingers and hands to your neck. Inhale deeply
and direct energy to your neck back while rotating the neck clockwise. Exhale then inhale
deeply while directing energy to your neck and rotating your neck counterclockwise.
Repeat this procedure while flexing forward and again while extending backward. Repeat this
procedure again while flexing to the right and again while flexing to the left.

The skull contains 22 bones with a degree of movement
possible between many of them. For the skull, place the tips of two fingers (or thumbs) on
the surface of the sphenoid bone (located in the depression on the temples on both sides)
and press gently inward (with 5 grams of pressure, the weight of a nickel) as you exhale
and release as you inhale. Visualize energy flowing into the center of your head behind your
eyes as you do this.

To energize the TMJ, (temporomandibular joint, Jaw), place
your finger tips on the joint. Exhale - then inhale deeply while visualizing and feeling
energy flow through the top of your head into the joints as you slowly open and close your
mouth.

The shoulders are ball and socket joints with very wide
angles of movement. There are additional joints between the clavicle and shoulder and
clavicle and sternum (rib cage). Place your hand over the shoulder joint and direct your
gaze to that contact. Inhale deeply and visualize energy flowing into this area while rotating
the arm clockwise in the widest circle possible. When the arm moves forward, move the entire
shoulder girdle forward with it. When the arm moves posterior, move the entire shoulder
girdle posterior with it. Exhale and repeat the process moving the arm counterclockwise.
Repeat the exercise with the other shoulder.

The elbows flex and extend and have some rotation. Place your
hand on your elbow or point your fingers at it and direct your gaze directly at the elbow.
Inhale deeply visualizing energy being drawn into the elbow while flexing the elbow and
rotating the palm toward the shoulder. Exhale while extending the elbow and rotating the
palm down. Repeat this a couple of times. Repeat this process with the other elbow.

|
|
|
The wrist can flex, extend and rotate. Place your
hand on your wrist or point your fingers at it and direct your gaze directly at the wrist.
Inhale deeply and direct energy to the wrist while flexing and extending the wrist.
Inhale deeply again while rotating the wrist clockwise. Inhale deeply again while rotating
the wrist counterclockwise. Repeat this process with the other wrist.

|
|
|
The fingers flex and extend. Place your
hand on your fingers or point your fingers (of the opposite hand) at them and direct your
gaze directly at the fingers. Inhale deeply while flexing the fingers into a fist. Exhale
while extending the fingers into an open hand. Repeat this a few times. Repeat this
exercise with the other hand.

If a part of your body needs healing, place both hands over
that part, direct your gaze and attention to that part and breath energy into it. You can also
use this as a healing technique to apply to others.
